2010 vs. 2011

January 6, 2011

i
came. i saw. i conquered.

“Experience: the
most brutal of teachers. But you learn. By God, you learn.” — CS.
Lewis Love that quote. 2010 was a year of epic successes and epic
failures. So grateful that I have a God that loves me and never
gives up on me and a husband who does the same. if anyone ever
prays for God to humble me again (because i know ONE of you did), i
will find you and beat you up. It seems to be a reoccurring pattern
in my life that I start to wander away and God will literally body
slam me into the ground and twist my leg until I’m crying, “UNCLE!
UNCLE!” and have completely surrendered to Him once again. NO MORE,
PLEASE, SWEET JESUS! NO MORE! Away from the negative aspect of
2010, it had some amazing accomplishments and in the last few weeks
I can say that I met every single NYR
(New Year’s Resolution) on my list! 1. Ran 1/2 marathon 2. flossed
daily. 3. did yoga/pilates a lot. 4. went on a tropical vacation.
5. ate really well (for the most part). 6. community of believers-
joined a church and became members. Goals for 2011: 1. Break up
with my big bad boyfriend, Diet Coke. Oh, baby. Oh, baby. We
took a break for awhile, but now you lured me back with your cool
carbonation and flashy can and I love you once more. We need to end
this parasitic relationship. It’s not good for either of us.
2. Run another 1/2
marathon and lure an unsuspecting victim, I mean, great friend to
do it with me! 3. Take more
time to love on people. I love my job as a nurse. I love my job as
a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I want to spend more
time loving on hurting people and less time worrying about how
they’re inconveniencing me with wanting a warm blanket, and some
cheese and crackers (and hot damn, those government cheese and
crackers are GOOD!) and more time trying to help them learn that
the emergency room is for EMERGENCIES (nicely, of course) and
figuring out where the real deficits are: education or lack of TLC?

lolcatz got
it down right.

4. become more of a
domestic goddess. cook more at home. be more organized. i want to
be more domestic and learn to cook easy healthy foods at home. i
eat healthy but i want it to be stuff i make with my own hands. or
teach josh to make for me. because he’s an amazing cook.

me. maybe. but mostly
probably josh.

5.
Force/encourage Spencer Pratt to finish all of Harry Potter
and complete our Disney collection. If you keep up with my
blogging, you can tell where this one is headed. I’ve decided that
if he doesn’t finish the series soon, that when we do have children
I’m naming the first one (boy or girl, doesn’t matter) Harry just
to remind him of the books he still needs to read.

harry ramsey. i like the
sound of that.

6. Get a new puppy to
ease the hurt from losing our best bud, Frank. Okay. Okay. We
already did. She is a 4 month old Doberman we rescued from
the doberman rescue. Her name (after MUCH deliberation and careful
consideration from family and friends) is Hello Kitty. a) because
we yell “HERE KITTY KITTY” to the cats and she actually runs to me.
and b) i love to yell, “NO,KITTY!” like Eric Cartman from South
Park. In
summary- I’m pretty ecstatic about the new year, new possibilities,
and new adventures. I am confident in my goals for this year and
can’t wait to see where I will end up in 2012 (if the world hasn’t
ended already). I have no doubt that 2011 will send 2010 crying and
screaming back to the stone age, and I will soon be blogging again
about dominating my resolutions and loving the people around me, or
attempting to. -hannah. (Also- for the five people that read my
blog. If you stop by and like what you read, please leave a
comment. it reminds me to blog more and makes me feel really
popular. haha)

Little did I know a certain little library volunteer would
turn into such a wordsmith!! Love ALL your blogs so hope 2011 is
filled with many more. You may need to add some therapy for Kitty
so she can learn to handle her name ! Keep those blogs
    coming……

Haha- I think the wonderful people that took a chance on an 8th grade volunteer helped shape me as a wordsmith! Thank you so much for your kind words- made my day! :-)

I love that you find such random photos…i mean, the cat
picture made me laugh out loud!!! And to your amazing reading
public the dog is ” Hello Kitty Diamond-Sharpay” and i am sure you
used it so your little sister (who will not be named) will never be
able to use it as her stripper name in another life :) Keep up the
great writing. I may actually be your running buddy, as long as the
weather is nice…i am a fair weather runner ! ttfn, xoxo

I LOVE READING YOUR BLOG! You always make me 1) giggle 2)
chuckle 3) crack-up…sometimes a little of all three in the same
postings :) I’m good friends with Suzy Jeffords, she’s the one that
told me to check out your blog. She said that it would “never
disappoint” and boy was she right. You have such a clever wit and a
way with words that makes your writings truly enjoyable (not to
mention the fact that you seem to say exactly what your thinking!
Love that about you!) Thanks for your posts. Thanks for your
candor. Without a doubt keep ‘em coming! Happy New Year :) PS – I
absolutely adore that your mom wrote what she wrote about your
little sis & her next life stripper name! You guys sound
    like an absolute blast! HIL-AR-IOUS!
